IBPS CWE Exam Pattern and Syllabus for Clerks

IBPS CWE SyllabusInstitute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is going to conduct Common Written Examination (CWE) for Clerks in month of December 2012. The Scores awarded in this Examination to the candidates are to be used by the Financial Institutions like Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank etc. for the selection of various entry level Clerk Posts.

Various Bank which comes under the IBPS Examination are Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank,IDBI Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, UCO Bank, Vijaya Bank.

IBPS CWE Exam Pattern :

The Examination will consists of 5 Sections i.e. Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry and Computer Knowledge with a total of 200 Questions with maximum  of 200 marks. Each Section will consists of 40 Questions

NOTE : The Examination will be available in English and Hindi both Except  the English Language Section.

Negative Marking Scheme :

Moreover, there will be penalty for wrong answers marked in this Objective test. For Each Question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If for any question a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as wrong even if one of the given answers happen to be right and 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. In case if the Question is left blank i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Cuttoff Score :

Each Candidate will have to Secure minimum standard score in each of the tests as well as on the Total Weighted Standard Score to be called for interview. The Cutt-off points to Qualify in each of the tests will be decided based on the Average ( Average of 1/4 standard deviation for General category Candidates and Average of  3/4 Standard Deviation for Reserved Category Candidates)
