Computerisation of ration cards in 2013


THE process of computerisation of ration cards has picked up in Nagpur Division. So far. computerisation of 89.51 percent of the ration cards in the Division has been done, with cent per cent data related to ration cards in Nagpur city entered in computers.
Nagpur Division has a total of 23.09,345 ration cards divided in six districts namely Nagpur. Wardha. Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur. and Gadehiroli as well as Nagpur city. So far. data entry has been done of 20,67,175 cards. In Nagpur city, entry of data related to all 4,98.565 ration cards has been done. Barring Nagpur city.

Ration card records lias been done in Gadchiroli district. According to Ramesh Mawaskar, Deputy Commissioner (Supplies), the process of validation of records will commence once (he process of computerisation is over. During validation, data related to each ration card including names of persons on the card will be cross-checked. Later on. duplication will be identified and deletions will be effected. This will streamline the process, he added.
