Dental College Nagpur will increase intake



GOVERNMENT Denial College and Hospital (GDCH) has sent a proposal for increased Under Graduate seats to Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The present intake is 40 and now ihey have applied for 10 more seats. It w ill make the total intake capacity of GDCH to 50. Ministry has forwarded the proposal to Dental Council of India (DCI). As per the norms, after going through the proposal, DCI may send its team for the inspection of GDCH.

GDCH. Nagpur established in 1968 with 30 UG intake. In 1998. it was increased to 40. Now in 2013. GDCH has applied for increased intake of 30. It fulfills all conditions that can give it increased intake. It has required infrastructure and staff. Presently GIX'H has 2 professors, two associate professors and 16 lecturers. The sanctioned posts are 6 professors. 9 associate professors and 16 lecturers.
First year students are taught Pre-clinical subjects. To add to its kitty. GDCH has planned to modernise infraslruclural activities. The audiovisual teaching aids, additional recre alion and sports facility for students etc will be introduced in the college. With the increase in seats, GDCH hostel capacity needs to be increased. Presently its capacity is of 140. Now it has proposed to take that capacitv to 300.
