SME Foundation (SMEF) was established in 2006 by the Government of Bangladesh through Ministry of Industries under the Company Act 1994 as a non-profit organization. Foundation is mandated to promote, support facilitate, finance and advocate for rapid expansion of the SMEs, which are now increasingly perceived as the engine of economic growth of Bangladesh.

The Managing Director is the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation who will be recruited and work under the supervision and direction of the Board of Directors of the Foundation. S/he will be responsible for the management of the affairs of all the SMEF and will have to play a leading and innovative role for planning, implementing and managing the strategies of the Foundation.

Educational Qualifications: The candidate is expected to have excellent academic track record with Master's degree and having two first classes/divisions. Candidates having PhD and/or Post-Doctoral degree in the field of SME/Entrepreneurship/lndustrial Development will be given preference.


Experience: The candidates are required to have at least 20 years of experience in executive position(s). Experience as CEO in a reputed organization will be preferable.

Age: The age range from 40- 60 years as on July 01,2013.
Emoluments: The monthly gross salary will be TV 2.50 lac and other benefit as per SME Foundation norms.The Foundation also provides the Managing Director a full time transport with a driver. These conditions may be revised by the Board of Directors of the Foundation.
SMEF Board of Directors may relax the educational qualification, experience and age for the candidate with practical experience on industry development and/or SME development.
The appointment will be made on a contract basis and the initial contract will be for 2-3 years with a provision of performance evaluation after six months from the date of joining.

Candidates are requested to submit their complete CV along with an APPLICATION mentioning his/her contribution to the SMEs for poverty  alleviation,  income  generation   and   growth   of  GDP.
Candidates are advised to mention the name and contact details (e-mail, cell number & address) of three referees who can recognize, certify and provide necessary information of the Candidates as per query of the Foundation. Candidates are also advised to provide two copies of recent passport size photographs, attested copies of all educational and experience certificates and national ID with the application. Incomplete application or failing to provide any document may turn the application rejected. Application should be sent through a sealed envelope addressed to the Chairperson, SME Foundation, Royal Tower, 04 Panthapath, Dhaka-1215 on or before 17 February 2013 within 5.00 pm. Application can also be mailed to chairperson@smef.org.bd with attached all the documents mentioned earlier.
