New Gate Score Formula :
The formula for GATE Score calculation has been changed from GATE 2013 .

Till the last GATE EXAM (GATE 2012), the formula used for GATE score calculation used only marks scored in the paper, average marks of all students in that year, average marks of all students in across 4 years, standard deviation of all students in that year, and standard deviation of all students across 4 years. 

In the new formula to be used from this year, the average and standard deviation terms do not refer to the entire population, but to a specific ability levels (qualification marks and top 0.1% of students).

GATE score calculation has seen interesting change with the shift of focus towards students’ ability level than the total aggregate. The old formula uses average and standard deviation of marks scored by all students. But in the new formula to be used from this year , the average and standard deviation terms do not refer to the entire population, but to specific ability levels (qualification marks and top 0.1% of students).

GATE RESULT 2013 ANNOUNCEMENT DATE :

GATE 2013 results will be announced on March 15, 2013 at 10:00 hrs 
and will be available on the GATE Online Applicant 
Website, www.kinindia.com, www.iannauniversity.com,
 www.indiastudyzone.com.

GATE 2013 score is valid for TWO YEARS from the date of announcement of the results.
